これは特定の排他ロックの形です。更新を行う際の対象データは、初めて取得した時点ではロックされず、データの更新が別のユーザーによって行われていないか確認するため、直前にアクセスします。この段階でロックがかけられる初めての場合となります。他のユーザーが既に更新を行っていた場合は、更新作業を中止します。そして、該当ユーザーにキャンセルされた旨を報告し、再び手続きを実行することを要請します。
