この集積回路は別名「混成集積回路」とも呼ばれるもので、受動素子と能動素子が一緒に集積されています。導体や抵抗パターンの生成方法により、これらは薄膜ハイブリッドICおよび厚膜ハイブリッドICの二つに分類されます。部品の土台となる基板はセラミック系と樹脂系の二種類があり、また、この集積回路は「モジュール」と表現されることもあるのです。
