1対1面談とは、上司と部下の二人一組で定期的に設けられる対話の機会です。一般的に「面談」と聞くと評価を受けたり、目標到達の進行状況を問われたりする場を想像しやすいですが、1対1面談はそれらとは異なる目的を持っています。この面談の目的は状況により変わることがありますが、その核心は「部下の支援のための場」であることです。これには、「部下の不安の軽減」「部下のアイデアの共有や反響」「部下のキャリアアドバイス」といった、部下をバックアップするための目的が含まれます。
効果的な1対1面談のキーは、1～2週毎に一回くらい、「日常的なコミュニケーションとは分けて」、「定期的に」時間を設けることです。
