「クライムウェア」は、その名が示す通り、「犯罪」(Crime)と「ソフトウェア」(Software)を組み合わせた新語です。この用語は、特に金融に関連する犯罪に悪用される一種のマルウェアを指すもので、その手口は対象となるシステムに侵入し、クレジットカード情報やオンラインバンキングのログインデータ、秘密情報やアドレス帳等を盗み出し、それらを不法な金銭獲得の手段とするものです。
