“Connected（コネクテッド）、Autonomous（自動運転）、Shared&Services（カーシェアリングとサービス）、Electric（電気自動車）”の頭文字を組み合わせ、ダイムラー社（現メルセデス・ベンツグループ）が2016年のパリモーターショーで発表した戦略造語です。この造語は、2020年代以降の自動車産業の象徴として広く認識され、自動車メーカーはこれら4つのカテゴリーを融合させ、単なる車製造企業から多元的なモビリティ会社への転換を見据えた戦略を急速に進行させています。
