「Conti」とは、RaaS型の二重恐喝ランサムウェアの一種です。具体的な作動方法としては、スピアフィッシングやシステムの脆弱性を突くことで、目標となるシステムへ侵入します。侵入が成功すると、ユーザーのデータを盗取して暗号化した上で、身代金の支払いを要求するという手口をとります。この「Conti」は開発者と運用者がそれぞれ専門的に活動するという分業体制を採用しているようです。ただし、その体制ゆえに報酬を巡るトラブルが発生し、運用に関するマニュアルが外部に流出した事例もあります。更に、「Conti」はロシアによるウクライナ侵攻時にロシア支持を表明しており、その結果、敵対するグループからの攻撃を受けて情報漏えいが発生しています。
