Zabbixは、サーバーやネットワーク、アプリケーションの監視を目的としたオープンソースのモニタリングソフトウェアであり、その開発を手掛けるのはZabbix社です。その最大の特徴は、全ての機能が無償で利用可能であること。具体的には、主に3つの重要な機能を提供しています。監視機能では、サーバーやネットワークを接続したデバイスの活動状況、ログ情報、プロセスの確認などを可能とします。障害検知／通知機能を利用すれば、取集したデータに対して閾値を設定し、障害や復旧の際に管理者にアラートを送出します。また、グラフィカル表示機能を通じて、蓄積したデータをグラフ化したり、ネットワークマップを作成したりすることが可能となります。’
