ホールICとは

“ホール効果”とは、電荷が磁界と垂直な方向に移動する際、ローレンツ力が移動方向と磁界の両方に垂直な方向に働く現象を指します。この原理を応用したのが磁電変換ICであり、マグネットの磁力を電気信号に変換します。このICにはセンサ部（ホール素子）と周辺回路（増幅回路やシュミットトリガ）が同一パッケージ内に組み込まれており、そのためマイコンなどに直接、ロジックレベルで入力することが可能となっています。ホールICの応用領域は幅広く、FDDのインデックスセンサやモータの回転数検出、ブラシレスモータのコイル通電相切換センサ、テープレコーダのオートリバース/オートストップセンサなどといった多様な分野で活用されています。
