ボール盤とは

‘ボール盤’は、材料に精密に穴を開けることを目的とした工作機械のことを指します。その名前の由来は、オランダ語の’boor-bank’とされています。また、同様に、切削工具である‘バイト’の語源も、オランダ語の’beitel’であると言われています。
