グレー・ネットワークとは

“グレー・ネットワーク”は、アメリカ防総省が推進中の遠隔地からの機密データアクセスシステムの展開方針です。このシステムの運営は、防総省の情報システムを管理する防衛情報システム局（DISA）が受け持つことが予定されています。

そのネーミングからも伺えるように、”グレー・ネットワーク”の概念は、遠隔地や戦場、野外基地のような場所から、携帯機器を使用して機密データにアクセスし活用できるネットワーク環境を提供するというもの。その実現方法としては、公衆ネットワークと機密情報ネットワーク間にVPNトンネルを活用した中間層を設けることで、不正アクセスや情報漏洩から機密情報をしっかりと守ることも含まれています。
