「ダブルトランザクション方式」と称される手法は、倉庫の保管空間をストック専用エリアとピッキング専用エリアの2つに分け、各々の業務を分担させて運用するシステムを指します。「ダブルトランザクションシステム」または単に「ダブルトランザクション」とも呼ばれます。一般的に物流センターにおける保管効率と作業効率は相反するトレードオフの関係性をもつ一方、このダブルトランザクション方式は、そのトレードオフ問題を解消し、総合的な効率を最適化するための戦略として効力を発揮します。
