“仕掛品”、あるいは単に”仕掛”とは、その読み方からわかるように”しかかりひん”と発音され、これが特定の製造ステージにある製品を意味します。製品が完成するまでにはさまざまな製造段階が存在し、これらの各段階には進行中の品目が並べられています。これらの品目は、通常、仕掛品と呼ばれています。生産プロセスにおいて、在庫として認識される品目以外の全ての品目もまた、仕掛品と認識することが可能です。仕掛品は、マテリアル要件計画（MRP）において、注文未完了（注残）と同様に管理されます。
