「有害物質管理の方針について。これは、コンピュータ、通信器具、家庭用電器などの電気製品に有害な化学物質の使用を制限する法令です。2003年2月13日に欧州連合（EU）15カ国で発効し、2006年7月からEU各国で適用されています。この命令は、鉛や六価クロム、水銀、カドミウム、ポリ臭化ビフェニール、ポリ臭化ジフェニルエーテルなど6種類の有害な化学物質を対象としています。RoHS指令は主にEU地域でしか存在せず、日本やアメリカではまだ同等の規制はありません。しかし、多くの日本やアメリカの企業が欧州で製品を販売しているため、RoHS指令に適合させることが求められています。」
