ドメインコントローラ（Domain Controller）とは、Windows Serverの中で認証リクエストの処理を行ったり、Active Directoryサービスでドメインサービスを統括したりするサーバのことを指します。その役割は、管理するドメイン内において、主にディレクトリデータの保管、ユーザーやコンピュータの認証などを行うとともに、グループポリシーに基づいたユーザーや端末のコントロールも担当します。通常、一つのドメインには複数のドメインコントローラが設置されています。
