「ブレンディッドラーニング」とは、多様な教育手法を組み合わせることで効果を高める学習方式のことです。具体的には、受講者間の交流や学習への意欲を促進する集合研修と、個々の学習進度や利用時間を自身で調整できるeラーニングの両者を用いることで、一つずつ採用するだけでは得られない高度な教育成果を期待できます。例えば、まずeラーニングによって事前に必要な知識を身につけた後、実際の集合研修にてしっかりと理解を深めるレッスン（出力）を行う、これを「反転授業」と称する方式も、ブレンディッドラーニングの典型的な例と言えます。
