エキストラ’という表現は、一般的な規格やサイズから逸脱した特別な案件に割り当てられる追加の費用を指します。鋼材の価格設定は基本課金項目に規格料金とエキストラ料金が上乗せされた形で構成されています。例えば、鋼板を用いる場合、通常の板厚からより厚袍へと変わると「板厚エキストラ」が反映され、製造が困難な極厚品用には「造塊エキストラ」が適用されます。また、標準サイズを超えるような広幅の板に対しても「広幅エキストラ」といった追加料金が存在します。
