ENISAとは、The European Union Agency for Cybersecurity（＝欧州連合サイバーセキュリティ機関）の略称です。2004年に発足したこの機関は、欧州連合のサイバーセキュリティを監督する立場にあり、加盟各国のセキュリティ維持と強化を使命としています。その活動範囲は、サイバーセキュリティ政策の作成、加盟国間の情報共有促進、ICT製品の信頼性向上など多岐にわたります。また、ENISAが作り上げた「Information Assurance Framework（情報セキュリティ確保フレームワーク）」は、その名が示すとおり広く認知されています。
