「バリ」とは、材料を加工した時に出てくる不必要な突起のことを指します。主にフライス切削、穴あけ、研磨、旋盤加工といった、切断や切削作業において現れます。また、金型成型が行われる際には、成型品の金型が組み合わせられた部分にもバリが出現します。特にその部分で突出したバリは、パーティングラインと呼ばれます。
