SKUとは

「SKU」はStock Keeping Unit（ストック・キーピング・ユニット）の頭文字を取った省略語で、「エスケーユー」と発音します。これは商品の発注や在庫管理を行う際に使われる最も独立した管理の単位を指します。商品の単位には、「アイテム」と「SKU」の二つがあります。「アイテム」はその商品の型やカテゴリーを示しています。一方、「SKU」は「アイテム」をさらに細かく分類したもので、サイズ、パッケージ、色彩、容量などがそれにあたります。具体的な例として、アパレル業界のTシャツを考えてみましょう。同じデザインのTシャツがS、M、L、LLの4つのサイズと4色で販売されている場合、アイテム数は1つですが、SKU数は4（サイズ）x 4（色）の16となります。
