「高炉品」とは、大規模な鉄鋼メーカー「高炉メーカー」が製造する鉄鋼製品を指す言葉です。高炉メーカーとは、一つの敷地内で、高炉を使い鉄鉱石から銑鉄を生成し、それを転炉工程や鋳造工程、連続鋳造工程を経て最終製品へと生産していく所謂、銑鋼一貫製鉄所を所有する企業を指します。具体的な製品例としては、鋼板があり、新日鐵住金やJFEスチール、神戸製鋼所の鋼板などが「高炉品」に分類されます。
