「ダイ」とも呼ばれるチップは、ICやICの代表として知られています。それはデバイス機能や電子回路が組み込まれたシリコン基板の小さな断片で、ICの型や回路の複雑さや統合度によって、その大きさは多種多様です。製造段階では「ペレット」とも言われます。また、パッケージ化されたICの完成品を指してチップと言う場合もあります。
