特権アクセスワークステーション（Privileged Access Workstation、PAW）とは、システム内で重要な操作を行う特権アカウントを守るために高度なセキュリティ策を講じたマシンのことを指します。システム管理者や重要なデータを取り扱うアカウントは頻繁に攻撃の狙いとなるため、その侵害は大きな被害をもたらす可能性があります。PAWの理念とは、特権アカウントの使用をセキュアなマシンに限定することで、攻撃を受ける可能性を抑えることです。
PAWは、重要なシステムの管理にのみ使われ、最低限の権限に基づいた厳格なセキュリティポリシーが設けられています。
