リモートのWindowsマシンを制御するためのオープンソースのツールであるRemCom（RemoteCommandExecutor）は、さまざまな攻撃者や高度持続的脅威（APT）により、ターゲットの侵害後のコード実行や探索などのリモートシェルとして使用されています。2022年のロシアによるウクライナの侵攻についても、RemComは、ワイパー型マルウェアと一緒に使われることでサイバー攻撃が発生しています。
