2006年以降、中国の国家安全保障部門と関わりのあるAPTとして活動を続けるAPT10は、Cicada、POTASSIUM、StonePandaという名称でも知られています。APT10の独自の特性として、日本を主なサイバースパイの対象に据えていることが挙げられます。その攻撃方法はスピアフィッシングや、ZeroLogonなどの脆弱性を活用した不正アクセスを通じ、被攻撃者のシステムやネットワークに侵入し、そこからデータを盗むというものです。これは主にマルウェアや特別なツールを用いて行われます。
