APT28は、国際的に知られるロシア軍参謀本部情報総局（GRU）との関連性が指摘されるプロのハッカーグループです。より豊かな表現力を持たせるため、IRONTWILIGHTやSNAKEMACKEREL、Swallowtail, Group74, Sednit, Sofacy, PawnStorm, FancyBear, STRONTIUM, TsarTeam, ThreatGroup-4127, TG-4127など、多くの別称も組み込まれています。セキュリティ業界では、Mandiant社やMITREが使用する「APT28」や、CrowdStrike社が使用する「FancyBear」が一般的に広まっています。報道やMITREATT&CKの分析からも、APT28は数々の重要な国家間サイバー戦争の作戦に関与していることが明らかになっています。
