スクリーニング調査とは

「スクリーニング調査」とは、具体的な調査対象者を見つけ出すために先行して実施される予備的な調査のことを指す。これはアンケート調査などに取り組む際に、対象者の範囲を具体的な条項（年齢、性別、等の特性）に従って絞り込むための工程である。これは、特定の条件を満たす被験者を探求する場合に行われる。スクリーニング調査が終わったら、該当する対象者だけが本格的な調査に進む。

具体的には、「技術者で年収が600万円超えていてかつ30代の男性」という特定の条件を求める調査対象とする場合、全体の男性の中より該当する人物を選び出すための調査を行うといったことを意味する。調査対象者選定の一環として、対象者に対し適合性を向上させる質問設定も行われることがある。
