ブロックチェーンとは、データの管理と記録を分散化するための一特殊なデータベーステクノロジーです。ブロックと称される単位を用いてデータを管理し、暗号化の手法を使って連続的に連結した状態で保存します。各ブロックには、直前のブロックを示すハッシュ値が記録されています。万が一データ改ざんが発生した場合、対象のブロック以降の全てのハッシュ値も同時に改変する必要があり、これによりデータ改ざんが極めて困難となっています。
