SSPI(Security Support Provider Interface)は、Windows環境での認証セキュリティ機能を担当するアプリケーションとそのインターフェースを指します。アプリケーションやインフラは、Windowsの認証仕組みを活用する際には、DLLを介してSSPIを呼び出しが行われます。とりわけ、サーバーとクライアント間に認証が求められるシチュエーションでは、SSPIの活用が重要となります。そんなSSPは、一例としてKerberosやNTLM、Digest、Schannel(Secure Channel)、Negotiate、Credentialといった種々の認証方式のサポートを行っています。
