2003年に誕生した非営利組織であるTCG（Trusted Computing Group）は、ハードウェアを中心にセキュリティ強化に注力しています。これは、相互運用可能なTPM（Trusted Platform Module）をベースにした国際的な使用・標準の開発と普及に奔走することで達成されています。物理的なハードウェアだけでなく、携帯機器やサーバ、周辺機器、ストレージ、インフラストラクチャといったダイバーシティある関連機器に対するTPMの仕様を公開しています。不朽の名を持つMicrosoft、Cisco、Google、IBM、Intel、HP、そしてDellを含む100社以上の企業が、全力建てで参画し、事務局はアメリカ・オレゴン州に設けられています。
