「テックサポート詐欺」は、インターネット上の広告等を悪用した不正行為です。インターネットを利用しているユーザーのPCに対して、「PCがウイルスに感染しています」といった警告メッセージやポップアップウィンドウを表示します。その後、セキュリティ企業を騙ったメッセージを通じて、ウイルスの排除を申し出る形でユーザーを欺くことで、電子マネーの購入などを通じて金銭を盗むサイバー犯罪です。多くのケースでは、実際にPCがマルウェアに感染しているわけではなく、ユーザーを恐怖に陥れてお金を騙し取ることが主な目的です。
