E-BOM、すなわちEngineering Bill of Materialは、設計部品表とも呼ばれ、製品設計を行う上で必要な部品とその数を一覧化したものです。これは、製造過程の各段階で必要な情報を加え、伝達することにより、業務の効率性を高める働きをもたらします。
特徴的なのはその管理方法で、E-BOMは多くの場合、階層構造で整理されます。つまり設計単位（ユニット）ごとに階層が形成されており、その各層が3Dモデルや関連ドキュメントと連携し、より良い管理環境を提供します。
