「フラットバー」は形鋼の一部門です。また「平鋼」とも称されます。その特徴は長方形の細長さにあり、その厚さと幅は規定に基づいて固定されています。溶断によって形が歪む可能性のある細長い設計紙に対し、フラットバーの利用を推奨することもあります。略して「FB」とも表記します。
