“光露光技術とも称されるフォトリソグラフィでは、投影レンズとウェハ基板（別名フォトレジスト）の間に屈折率が1を超える液体を充填することで、パターンの転写が行われます。この液体の屈折率を ‘n’ と表現した場合、投影レンズの開口数NAはその ‘n’ 倍が上限となり、解像度も同様に ‘n’ 倍にアップグレードされます。現在一般的に使用されている液体は水で、その屈折率は1.4となります。”
