コモン・クライテリア（CC）とは、国際的に認められたセキュリティ機能評価の枠組みで、ISO/IEC15408という名で定められています。製品のイノベーターらが設定したセキュリティの機能やパフォーマンスが実際に適切であることを、第三者が試験を通して検証することが求められます。この枠組みは当初、アメリカやイギリス、フランス、ドイツ、カナダ、オランダから始まり、現在では国際的な基準として位置づけられています。
