「frp（FastReverseProxy）は、ローカルサーバをインターネットに広く公開するためのオープンソースのリバースプロキシツールを提供します。その特徴としてTCP、UDP、HTTPを活用し、ネットワーク境界の障壁を如何なるファイアウォールでもその能力を活用することで迂回し、サーバへの接続を可能にします。

このユーザーとローカルサーバの仲介役を果たすのがfrps（一般的には公開サーバに配置）であり、公開対象であるホストにインストールされるのがfrpcです。サーバーとの通信をとりもつfrpcはバイナリで、サーバーアドレスはfrpsが設置されたアドレスを指定します。これにより、公開サーバを通じた接続が可能となります。」
